The Coogee Run Club, organised by two young women who returned to Australia in late 2021 after a five-year stay in London, has grown steadily and energetically over the past year, with five runs each week and new members joining at each session.

Tara and Hannah, who returned to Australia from London in late 2021, were looking for a running club in the Eastern Suburbs. When they couldn’t find one, they decided to form their own.

Tara and Hannah envision the run club to be a way of life. At the Club, members should be able to run at their own pace and speed, never leaving anyone behind at the finish line.

The Coogee Run Club also does not charge any fees nor ask members to register. Interested people who want to get into running may simply join when they are ready.

“We’ll never cancel a run. Rain, hail, shine or hangover, you can always count on us to be there!” the organisers said. “With a beating energy and beaming smiles like no other, we bring all the enthusiasm, excitement and ultimate vibes to create the most welcoming, friendly and open run club out there!”

Helping Tara and Hannah out are athletes like Steve and Simona, who leads the runs on the following regular schedules:

TUESDAY 6:30 P.M.5K TO MAROUBRA + FISHBOWL
WEDNESDAY 6:30 A.M.SPEED SESH WITH STEVO
THURSDAY 6:15 A.M. 5K TO CLOVELLY + DIP N’ SIP
SUNDAY 8:00 A.M.10K TO MALABAR + DIP N’ SIP

The Coogee Run Club meet-up is at the White Steps of Coogee Beach every Tuesday, Queens Park every Wednesday, and the Rainbow Steps every Thursday and Sunday.
