Saturday evenings at Coogee Beach are getting a live soundtrack, with musicians performing beside the Rainbow Walkway as part of Randwick City’s year-long Amplify program.
Coogee is one of seven locations hosting Amplify performances across Randwick City, with professional musicians playing in public spaces from the coast to the town centres.
The 2026–27 program began in July and continues until 26 June next year.
Saturday Night by the Beach
For Coogee readers, the next local performance is this Saturday, 15 August, when Locos will play at the Coogee Rainbow Walkway at Coogee Beach from 6pm to 9pm.
There are several other performances within easy reach that day.
Will Baker will be at McKeon Street Plaza, Maroubra, from 11am to 2pm, while Erik Stripparo will perform at La Perouse, beside the Boat Shed, from 11am to 2pm.
In the evening, Monica Prieto is scheduled at Newmarket on Barker Street, Randwick, from 6pm to 9pm, with Angela Paoki at The Spot, Randwick, from 6pm to 9pm.

Music Where Coogee Already Gathers
Amplify is built around a simple idea: take live music out of conventional venues and put it where people are already spending time.
Coogee Beach is a natural fit. The evening performances arrive as people are walking the beachfront, heading out for dinner or settling into the area for the night.
The program runs fortnightly across its main locations, with weekly performances scheduled during the summer holiday period from 5 December to 9 January, apart from a reduced Boxing Day program.
That gives Coogee a run of live performances during one of the busiest periods of the year.
A Bigger Stage for Musicians
Amplify also provides professional opportunities for musicians to perform in front of audiences across Randwick City.
Artists interested in appearing in Amplify or other Randwick City events can submit an expression of interest.
For Coogee, the result is more immediate: live music beside the beach, with a rotating line-up continuing into next year.
