Are you ready to join the celebrations of the annual Anzac Day dawn service at Coogee Beach? Here’s what to look forward to in 2023!

This year, the event will be held on 25 April 25, 2023, at Goldstein Reserve, Coogee Beach.
The event is free and open to the public, with no tickets required. The service will commence at 5:30 a.m, just before the sun rises, allowing attendees to witness the first rays of light breaking through the horizon as they pay their respects.
The service is hosted in partnership with the Coogee Randwick Clovelly RSL sub-Branch and draws crowds of up to 10,000 people. There will be ample standing room, as well as 3,000 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Additionally, the service will be livestreamed on Randwick City Council’s Facebook page, enabling people to view it from the comfort of their own homes.
The ceremonial proceedings of the dawn service will include Welcome to Country, raising of the flags, prayer, wreath laying, the Last Post bugle call, a minute’s silence, and musical performances by Bondi Brass, Amber Lawrence, and South Coogee Public School Choir.
These performances will create a solemn and reflective atmosphere, whilst also celebrating the spirit of Anzac Day.

It is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by these brave individuals and to extend our gratitude to their families and loved ones.
“Set against the backdrop of the iconic Coogee Beach, our annual dawn service is a memorable and meaningful way for the community to come together and pay a special tribute to our Anzacs as well as those who have served to defend Australia,” said Randwick Mayor Dylan Parker.

According to Cr Parker, it is crucial for everyone to take a moment to recollect the sacrifices made by those who have devoted their lives to safeguarding our nation, as well as to express our appreciation to the loved ones and friends who have stood by them and supported them through difficult times.
