InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach has reopened after a multimillion-dollar renovation, adding new leisure, dining and wellness facilities to its beachfront hotel offering.
Coogee Beach Hotel Reopens With Updated Guest Facilities
InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach has completed the final stage of a multimillion-dollar renovation, bringing new facilities and redesigned spaces to the beachfront property.
The hotel is now open with an ocean-facing infinity pool and terrace, a Club InterContinental lounge and two pickleball courts. The Èliva Spa is scheduled to open in early May, adding a further wellness component to the site.
The renovation includes 198 guestrooms and suites, with many featuring updated interiors and ocean views. The transformation was designed by Woods Bagot and introduces a coastal design approach across the hotel.

New Pool Deck Faces The Coogee Shoreline
A key part of the renovation is the hotel’s pool deck, which is positioned above the coastline and faces the ocean. The area includes a heated infinity-edge pool, private cabanas, sun lounges and integrated seating.
The terrace has been arranged with curved planters, layered planting and coastal landscaping. Fire pits have also been included for winter use.
The adjoining poolside dining area offers classic dishes and lighter meals, including Nourish Bowls available throughout the hotel.

Club Lounge Adds Private Ocean-Facing Space
The renovation also includes the Club InterContinental lounge, which provides indoor seating areas and a private open-air terrace overlooking the ocean.
Guests using the lounge have access to breakfast by the water, afternoon tea and evening drinks with Champagne and canapés. The terrace is separate from the public-facing pool deck while still retaining views across the coastline.
The addition gives the hotel another guest space beyond its rooms, restaurant and pool areas.

Wellness Offering To Expand With Èliva Spa
The hotel’s wellness and leisure facilities include two pickleball courts, a 24-hour fitness studio and Èliva Spa.
The spa includes magnesium mineral pools, infrared and salt saunas, cold plunge baths, a crystal steam room and a recovery lounge. Wellness technology listed for the space includes PEMF infrared masks, LED facial masks, compression boots and vitamin C-infused showers.
Treatments are tailored through consultation, with the spa designed around rest, recovery and invigoration.
Local Coogee Experiences Included In Guest Guide
The hotel also offers a destination guide linking guests with nearby Coogee activities. Listed experiences include snorkelling along the underwater nature trail at Gordons Bay, swimming at Wylie’s Baths and visiting neighbourhood cafés.
Shutters Restaurant & Bar, which opened with the hotel in December, remains part of the property’s dining offer.
The completed renovation gives InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach a refreshed beachfront presence, with its updated rooms, pool deck, club lounge, dining areas and planned spa centred around the coastal setting.
